Reset Your Mood for Maximum Performance

New year, new you - same hangover.😐

The holiday break was a welcome distraction to 2022 and its chaos. We ate, we drank, and we spent time with loved ones. But now, just like my NYE party hangover - 2023 is knocking on my skull.

I’m hunting for some Advil and hydration and here is what I have to trip over to find it:

  1. A reset Sales quota 📈

    • Well… it's taking the business a while to get the new quota to me

  2. A performance review - assessing my selling capability 🗒️

  3. New Year announcements such as Leadership changes, territory, restructuring, and the like 😨

Forget the Advil, this might be a hair-of-the-dog situation. 🍸

Headache managed - let’s dive in.

In this blog post, we’ll discuss how to reset your mood so that you can achieve maximum performance. We’ll also explore how technology can help you get back on track quickly. With the right tools and strategies, you can be sure that no matter what life throws at you, you will be able to stay motivated and productive!

Introduction: How Changing Your Mood Can Improve Performance

Have you ever felt like your day was going downhill and nothing seemed to be going your way? It's time to reset your mood. Changing components of yourself can have a huge impact on improving your performance.

From simple things like taking a deep breath or getting some exercise to more complex activities such as reframing negative thoughts or engaging in positive self-talk, there are many ways you can reset your mood. With the right approach, you can make sure that you are always in the best frame of mind for success. Let's look at how changing these three elements can help improve performance.

1. Take a deep breath 😅

Too much stress can create physical symptoms like muscle tension and constricted blood vessels in your face, chest, and neck. That tightness could be caused by holding your breath or shallow breathing. Breathing too quickly can produce a sense of anxiety and cause a rapid heart rate and an insatiable urge to take a break to think about what you're doing wrong. When you're feeling tense, take time to slow down by taking deep breaths in for four seconds and out for eight seconds as often as needed throughout the day.

2. Engage in mindfulness 😌

One of the most powerful ways to find yourself is through mindfulness meditation and deep breathing exercises. Mindfulness teaches you how to focus on the present moment, which is a great way to be more present and in control of your thoughts and emotions. This is how you can bring yourself back into balance when your mood starts to shift too far downhill.

3. Engage in positive self-talk 😁

Sometimes our minds envision negative outcomes before they happen, or we can create unrealistic expectations for ourselves that are hard to achieve based on what we've been taught or experienced so far. It's important to be able to talk yourself up when you're feeling down. When you do it, your positive self-talk is a great way to keep your mood in balance.

4. Find a supportive person 🎙️💬🤗📱

When it feels like there's a voice inside of us that is constantly telling us we're not good enough, it's important to find someone who will affirm our strengths and value our efforts. Talking with someone else about how you feel can be very therapeutic because they can help share their own experiences and provide support without passing judgment or criticism.

5. Let go 👋

Sometimes when we are feeling overwhelmed with negativity and hopelessness, all we can do is let go of trying so hard for that which seems out

Mental fog, anxiety, stress, kids, family, friends, work - need I go on? Any of these can very easily apply to stress in your life. For me, it’s my alarm clock. Be intentional, and make time to have fun. 15 minutes of fun a day can drastically improve your well-being and work day. Play a video game, go for a walk, and eat that doughnut!
